Lives Lived Well at Mirikai Residential Rehabilitation Centre in Burleigh Heads, Gold Coast, is seeking a Peer Support Worker who will use their lived recovery experience to inspire hope and provide practical, compassionate support to clients in residential treatment.

You will work alongside clinicians and other staff, help facilitate groups and recovery activities, assist with recovery plans, advocate for clients, and maintain accurate documentation to contribute to a positive,

Qualifications

• Lived experience of substance use recovery and treatment within an AOD service
• Ability to share lived experience appropriately and purposefully to support others
• Understanding of recovery-oriented practice
• Empathy, resilience and a non-judgemental approach
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Responsabilités

• Provide peer-based support to clients participating in residential treatment.
• Draw on your lived experience of recovery to promote hope, resilience and positive change.
• Build genuine and supportive relationships with clients.
• Provide individual recovery-focused support and encouragement.
• Assist clients to identify strengths, goals and opportunities for growth.
• Facilitate and co-facilitate groups and recovery-focused activities.
• Advocate for clients and support them to have their voices heard.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support positive treatment outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to a positive team culture.
