Job summary

NSW Health's CICADA Centre NSW is seeking a Research Officer to contribute to planning, data management and reporting for pediatric/adolescent drug and alcohol research projects. You will work with three clinical streams and support the FASD research assistant, ensuring ethics compliance and high-quality data processes.

You will manage data systems, assist with manuscript preparation and contribute to evaluation activities across multiple projects within the CICADA service.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in clinical research; preferably with children and adolescents and/or drug and alcohol research.
• Doctorate, Honours or Masters Degree in Psychology, Nursing or Equivalent training in health/behaviour sciences research, methodology and statistics.
• Excellent skills in clinical research in quantitative or qualitative clinical, public health health services research, including database management and basic statistical analysis skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience in development of ethics proposals and scientific writing skill.
• Knowledge of standard child and adolescent questionnaires, including for developmental assessments, mental health and drug and alcohol.
• Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of data collection systems including programs such as excel and redcap and biostatistics, including use one or more statistical programs.
• Ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner and within part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to planning, implementation, co-ordination, data management and reporting of CICADA service research projects.
• Oversee CICADA Research and Evaluation Program of Research with various projects.
• Support research relating to clinical service provision and family programs, including recruitment and data management.
• Manuscript submission and review; ethics compiling yearly clinical service audits.
