Job summary

Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, part of NSW Health, is seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1 for the Connect, Pause & Reflect Nurse Coordinator role within the Medical Stream. This temporary part-time position (8 hours per week) offers specialised leadership in paediatric care and aims to enhance clinician connectedness and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Minimum of 5 years full-time post-qualification experience
• Post-registration qualification in field of practice or equivalent
• Proven clinical leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated involvement in development of clinical practice underpinned by evidence-based research
• Ability to contribute to strategic and clinical service planning

Responsibilities

• The Clinical/Midwifery Nurse Consultant provides expert support to improve interpersonal connection and reduce isolation among clinicians as they navigate the care of chronic or severe pediatric patients through the Connect, Pause and Reflect programme.
• The role provides organisational leadership of the programme and leads engagement of nursing staff in CPR reflective sessions and utilisation of resources with education and evaluation.
• Works with key stakeholders to support clinical teaching, education needs assessment and competence in modern information systems.
