Job summary

SA Health's Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking a Paediatric Nurse Consultant RN3A to provide expert clinical consultation across paediatric services at Lyell McEwin Hospital and community sites. This part-time role (32 hours per week) offers leadership in quality improvement, development of clinical guidelines, and education for nursing teams.

This role requires strong paediatric clinical depth, postgraduate qualifications in paediatric nursing, and the ability to mentor staff

Qualifications

• Strong paediatric clinical background.
• Demonstrated experience operating at a consultant or advanced practice level within a paediatric or child health context.
• Proven ability to lead quality and safety initiatives within a complex health service environment.
• Experience developing clinical resources or guidelines within an SA Health or comparable public health network.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with families, clinicians, and stakeholders.
• Relevant postgraduate qualifications in paediatric nursing or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical advice and consultative support to nursing and multidisciplinary teams caring for paediatric patients.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and translate clinical evidence into practice across the paediatric service.
• Support the development and review of clinical guidelines, policies, and care pathways specific to paediatric populations.
• Contribute to education, mentorship, and capability building for nursing staff across NALHN.
