Job summary

Komatsu Australia is hiring experienced Fitter or Plant Technicians for the Fairfield PDI team. You will assemble, fit out, and test brand-new Komatsu equipment, install customer options, and ensure quality before delivery.

Ideal candidates have a Mechanical Trade qualification (Plant Mechanic/Heavy Diesel) and hands-on experience with earthmoving or heavy equipment, with a strong focus on safety and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Mechanical trades qualification is essential.
• Experience with earthmoving or heavy equipment preferred.
• Strong fault‑finding and safety workmanship required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and fit‑out new Komatsu machinery.
• Install customer‑specific options and components.
• Test and check machines prior to delivery.
• Diagnose and rectify issues as needed.
• Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
• Collaborate with the PDI team and Leads.
• Document and report work performed.
