Job summary

Downer is seeking an experienced Payroll Test Analyst to join our team in Sydney on a 12-month maximum-term contract. You will ensure the accuracy and compliance of payroll systems across SAP Payroll and related HR platforms, partnering with Payroll, HR, Technology, and Project teams.

You will design test cases, perform SIT/UAT, payroll validation, and defect management, contributing to successful system releases and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in Payroll Testing within SAP Payroll and/or SAP SuccessFactors ECP environments.
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation, awards, taxation, superannuation and compliance.
• Experience with SIT, UAT, regression testing, payroll validation and defect management.
• Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, qTest, ALM or similar.

Responsibilities

• Analyse requirements to define testing scope and approach.
• Design, develop, and execute test cases, scripts, and data for payroll changes.
• Conduct SIT, UAT, regression testing, and payroll calculation validation.
• Validate outcomes against awards, taxation, superannuation, and legislative requirements.
• Perform payroll reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Manage defects through tracking, retesting, and resolution.
• Maintain testing documentation, evidence, execution records and approvals.
• Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Technology, vendors, and project stakeholders to support releases.
