Job summary

Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer is a premier global law firm seeking a Payroll Systems & Compliance Manager to oversee day‑to‑day payroll platforms in Sydney. You’ll manage data integrity, controls, and system upgrades while aligning with privacy and governance requirements.

You will collaborate with Payroll, IT, and external vendors to implement improvements, ensure accurate reporting, and maintain compliant payroll processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in payroll systems.
• Strong data integrity, reconciliation, and reporting skills.
• Experience with system testing, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of payroll compliance, audit, and privacy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day payroll systems support, administration and troubleshooting across multiple platforms.
• Maintain system integrity through configuration, data quality, and access controls.
• Support upgrades, implementations, and transitions including legislative changes and new platforms.
• Perform payroll reconciliations and data validation across integrations and reports.
• Support payroll reporting, audits and regulatory obligations.
• Develop and maintain payroll procedures and user guides.
• Collaborate with payroll, IT, vendors and project teams on fixes and enhancements.
• Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and reduce manual workarounds.
• Ensure payroll data privacy, security and governance.
