Job summary

Randstad Pty is seeking a Payroll Support Officer for a 3-month contract in Melbourne CBD with hybrid working flexibility. You will manage payroll master data in SAP and PayGlobal, verify inputs, and deliver confidential service to staff and stakeholders.

The role emphasizes compliance, data accuracy, and operational support within a government agency context. Required experience in multi-award payroll environments and proficiency in SAP/PayGlobal.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and process core employee master data across SAP and PayGlobal
• Audit payroll inputs for accuracy including overtime and leave balances
• Provide confidential payroll support to internal staff and external stakeholders
• Assist Payroll Service Centre Team Leader with day-to-day operations
• Establish and maintain filing and archiving for payroll records for compliance
• Provide payroll helpdesk support and route tasks to processing teams

About the Role

Our client is a VIC government agency based in the Melbourne CBD. They are currently seeking a Payroll Support Officer to come in and join their team on a 3 month contract with possible extensions.

Requirements for this role include:

• Previous experience working in a multi-award payroll or office environment
• Proven knowledge and experience with SAP and/or Payglobal systems

Key responsibilities will include:

• Payroll Master Data Administration: Maintain and process core employee master data across SAP and PayGlobal, including banking details, Rostered Days Off (RDO), and work schedules.
• Payroll Data Verification & Quality Control: Review and audit critical payroll inputs within SAP and PayGlobal, verifying accuracy across entries such as overtime hours and leave balances.
• Customer Service & Query Resolution: Deliver confidential, responsive support to internal employees and external stakeholders, handling complex questions directly or redirecting inquiries to the appropriate channels.
• Operational Support & Collaboration: Assist the Payroll Service Centre Team Leader and Payroll Services Manager in coordinating day-to-day payroll operations and operational priorities in line with skill scope.
• Records Management & Compliance: Establish, organise, and uphold an accurate filing and archiving system for all payroll records to ensure ongoing regulatory and audit compliance.
• Helpdesk Operations & Workflow Coordination: Provide dedicated payroll helpdesk support, including reviewing and vetting incoming forms, routing tasks to processing teams, and reprinting payslips upon request.
