Job summary

RACQ is seeking a Payroll Officer to manage end-to-end payroll for fortnightly and monthly cycles, ensuring accuracy and on-time payments. You will liaise with Finance, HR and external bodies, applying payroll legislation and entitlements while maintaining confidentiality and high service levels.

You will contribute to audits, reporting and continuous process improvements, mentor team members, and support payroll projects within a purpose-driven Queensland heritage organisation.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate level qualification in Business, Finance, Payroll or a related field.
• Strong payroll experience (5+ years) and knowledge of payroll processes and compliance.
• Experience with Chris21 (Frontier Software) is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret Enterprise Agreements and policies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate end-to-end fortnightly and monthly payrolls with timely processing.
• Respond to payroll queries with confidentiality and excellent customer service.
• Partner with Finance, HR and external bodies while managing documentation.
• Apply payroll legislation, entitlements, deductions and end-of-month obligations.
• Support audits, reporting, and year-end tasks; contribute to process improvements.
• Mentor teammates and participate in payroll projects.
