Job summary

ABRS is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to own a fortnightly payroll function for a not-for-profit social care provider, with a strong focus on SCHADS Award interpretation and payroll system implementation.

You will lead the TechnologyOne to Employment Hero transition, ensuring payroll rules and data are migrated accurately ahead of go-live, and mentor accounts officers during the process.

Qualifications

• Strong SCHADS Award knowledge essential.
• Employment Hero experience essential.
• End-to-end payroll experience.
• Experience with payroll system implementation or process transformation.
• Ability to train managers and staff in new systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end fortnightly payroll processing and reconciliation.
• Apply SCHADS Award provisions across overtime, allowances and employee conditions.
• Review timesheets, payroll inputs and exceptions.
• Complete payroll and superannuation reconciliations.
• Lead the Employment Hero implementation, including process validation, testing and transition from the existing system.
• Train and educate managers and Executive staff in the application of Employment Hero.
• Develop payroll procedures and practical guidance for managers.
• Provide technical support and mentoring to Accounting Officers.
• Identify payroll risks, discrepancies and process improvement opportunities.
