Job summary

Spotlight Group Holdings is seeking a Payroll Officer to drive accurate fortnightly payroll via Dayforce, while supporting strategy, integrity and staff guidance within a fast-paced, collaborative retail group.

Based in our South Melbourne office with hybrid options, you’ll handle end-to-end payroll for 800–1,000 employees, contribute to process improvements, and provide timely payroll advice to management and team members.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll experience in a medium to large organisation.
• Experience with General Retail Industry Awards preferred.
• Experience with end-of-month reconciliations and high-volume payroll processing (800–1000 employees).
• Knowledge of Dayforce is highly desirable, NZ payroll experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Process fortnightly payroll through Dayforce.
• Assist in formulating and maintaining payroll strategies, systems and processes.
• Investigate and resolve pay discrepancies with confidentiality.
• Provide timely advice to staff and management on payroll matters.
• Create material for induction and development programs in stores and support groups.
• Generate periodic reporting to meet business requirements (fortnightly, monthly, annually).
• Perform data analysis, reconciliations and system health checks.
• Maintain databases and regular data integrity checks.
• Liaise with third parties regarding team member details as needed.
