Job summary

Spotlight Group Holdings is seeking a Payroll Officer to join our Support Office Team in a hybrid role. You will manage fortnightly payroll through Dayforce, implement payroll strategies, and resolve pay discrepancies while maintaining confidentiality.

You’ll contribute to reporting, data integrity, and system health checks across a large store network. You have 2+ years in a similar payroll role, experience with Dayforce, and strong Excel/Word skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll experience in a medium to large organisation.
• Experience with General Retail Industry Awards.
• End of month reconciliations and high-volume payroll processing (800–1000 employees).
• Experience with Dayforce is highly desirable.
• NZ payroll processing is highly regarded.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and data entry with strong communication.
• Ability to initiate change and improve processes and systems.
• Strong documentation skills and ability to meet deadlines in a large team.

Responsibilities

• Process fortnightly payroll through Dayforce.
• Assist in formulation, implementation, and maintenance of payroll strategies and processes.
• Investigate and resolve pay discrepancies with confidentiality.
• Provide timely advice to staff and management on performance/payroll matters.
• Create material for induction and development programs in stores and support group.
• Generate periodic reporting – fortnightly, monthly and annually.
• Analyze data, perform reconciliations, and system health checks.
• Maintain database integrity and liaise with third parties as needed.
