Job summary

The Catholic Diocese of Maitland – Newcastle West NSW is seeking a Payroll Officer to deliver end-to-end payroll services for allocated agencies and parishes. The role focuses on accuracy, compliance and timely processing within a 38-hour week.

Based in Newcastle West, it offers flexible working conditions and a potential ADO, with opportunities for training and development and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ payroll processing experience.
• Experience with awards and agreements.
• Strong customer service ethic and ability to service payroll customers.
• Ability to manage high-volume work with accuracy and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Administers payroll for allocated agencies and parishes.
• Ensures efficient, compliant and timely payroll service.
• Prepares payroll reconciliations and payroll reporting.
• Supports year-end payroll requirements.
• Provides payroll advice to employees and managers.
