Description

About us

We are Argon & Co, a global management consultancy that specialises in operations strategy and transformation. Our expertise spans manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, logistics, warehouse automation and distribution network optimisation. We work together with clients to transform their businesses and generate real change.

We foster an inclusive culture driven by the diversity of our employees and a flat management structure that encourages collaboration and contribution from the whole team.

About the role

As a Payroll Specialist – APAC, you’ll manage the day-to-day processing of six monthly payrolls across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. You’ll ensure payroll inputs are complete, employees are paid accurately and on time, statutory obligations are met, and payroll records are accurately reconciled with finance records.

This is a part-time role of 40 hours per month, providing responsive, professional support to employees and managers on payroll matters, while also contributing to payroll controls, process improvements and system enhancements.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the payroll calendar and monthly payroll cycle across six payrolls in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, including communicating cut-off dates and coordinating payroll inputs.
  • Collect, validate and process payroll inputs including starters, leavers, remuneration changes, allowances, deductions, leave, timesheets and bonuses.
  • Execute payroll accurately and on time, completing pre- and post-payroll checks, approvals, payment files and funding requirements.
  • Review payroll reports for unusual movements, missing information, duplicate payments and incorrect deductions, resolving or escalating issues before payment.
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related statutory obligations across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, including PAYG withholding, superannuation, payroll tax, PAYE, KiwiSaver and Singapore CPF contributions.
  • Reconcile payroll to bank payments, the general ledger and finance records, including preparing payroll journals and leave liability schedules.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, controls and procedures, provide support to employees and managers, and contribute to system improvements, testing and continuous improvement.

What you will need to succeed

  • Demonstrated experience processing payroll across APAC, particularly Australia and New Zealand, ideally across multiple entities or payrolls and with responsibility for the full monthly payroll cycle.
  • Working knowledge of AU, NZ and Singapore payroll requirements, including PAYE, PAYG withholding, KiwiSaver, superannuation, CPF contributions, leave entitlements and other applicable statutory obligations.
  • Experience using payroll and finance/ERP systems, with the confidence to learn new systems, perform testing and maintain accurate payroll data.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage recurring payroll deadlines and high volumes of data without compromising accuracy.
  • Experience with payroll reconciliations, payroll journals, leave liability schedules and payroll-related month-end activities.
  • Strong confidentiality, integrity and judgement when handling sensitive employee and remuneration information, together with clear communication skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with Finance, HR and business stakeholders in a global consultancy environment.
  • Take ownership of six payrolls processed monthly across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
  • Contribute to payroll improvements, controls and system enhancements.
  • Enjoy flexible working options in a collaborative team environment.
  • Potential for the role to become permanent, subject to business needs.
