Job summary

Sure People Solutions, partnering with ATCO Gas Australia, is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer for a fixed-term contract to June 2027 in Perth. You will manage end-to-end BAU payroll in SAP and support a transition to a new payroll system, maintaining accuracy and compliance.

You'll work with a Payroll Lead, interpret EBAs and modern awards, process benefits and salary packaging, reconcile payroll data, and respond to employee queries.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated SAP payroll experience (essential).
• Strong knowledge of EBAs and modern awards.
• Experience processing salary sacrifice and employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end BAU payroll accurately in SAP.
• Interpret and apply EBAs and four industrial awards.
• Process employee benefits, including salary sacrifice.
• Reconcile payroll, payroll tax, superannuation and deductions.
• Maintain employee data in SAP HR with compliance.
• Respond to payroll queries with clear, accurate advice.
• Support year-end processing and STP reporting as required.

Are you an SAP payroll professional who thrives on accuracy and knows your way around an EBA? Sure People Solutions is proud to be partnering with ATCO Gas Australia to find an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team on a fixed term contract through to June 2027.

About the Role

ATCO is about to embark on an exciting project, implementing a brand-new payroll system. While members of the current team are pulled into the project at different stages, you'll be the steady hand keeping BAU payroll running smoothly and accurately.

You won't be doing it alone. You'll always have a team member working alongside you for support, and you'll report directly to the Payroll Lead.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Processing end-to‑end BAU payroll accurately and on time in SAP
• Interpreting and applying EBAs and four industrial awards
• Processing employee benefits, including salary sacrifice and salary packaging
• Reconciling payroll, payroll tax, superannuation and deductions
• Maintaining employee data in SAP HR, ensuring compliance with awards, agreements and contracts
• Responding to payroll queries from employees and managers with clear, accurate advice
• Supporting year-end processing and STP reporting as required

About You

You'll be a confident, hands‑on payroll professional who takes pride in getting it right and can step in and contribute quickly. To be successful, you'll bring:

• Demonstrated SAP payroll experience (essential)
• Solid experience interpreting and applying EBAs and modern awards
• Experience processing salary sacrifice and employee benefits
• Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation and superannuation
• A sharp eye for detail and strong analytical skills
• Great communication skills and a collaborative approach
• ADP time sheeting experience is highly regarded
