Job summary

Carpentaria, a not-for-profit organisation delivering disability and therapy services, seeks a Payroll Officer. You will manage end-to-end payroll, ensure compliance with awards and tax requirements, and advise managers on payroll matters.

The role requires a Certificate IV in Payroll Administration or equivalent experience, knowledge of SCHADS/MW awards, and proficiency with payroll software including STP Phase 2. OT and NT Driver licence may apply.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Payroll Administration or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of SCHADS Award (MA000100) and Fair Work modern awards.
• Proficiency with payroll software (ELMO or equivalent) and STP Phase 2.
• Strong numerical accuracy with high attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret complex payroll matters and advise managers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end payroll processing across operations.
• Provide specialist payroll advice on legislation, award interpretation, taxation, and superannuation.
• Contribute to payroll governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Fair Work, ATO and Enterprise Agreements and Modern Awards.
• Assist with salary packaging and payroll compliance requirements.
