Job summary

FindStaff in regional Victoria is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a busy People & Culture team supporting a large and diverse workforce.

This is a full-time contract up to Christmas, offering exposure to payroll processing, superannuation, awards interpretation and continuous process improvement within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll within medium to large organisations.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, superannuation and tax requirements.
• Experience interpreting awards, agreements and employment conditions.
• High attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Experience with Excel and payroll systems (Chris21 is valued).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on time.
• Manage employee records, leave entitlements and payroll data.
• Administer superannuation, deductions and payroll reporting.
• Respond to payroll enquiries and provide expert advice.
• Interpreting awards, legislation and employment conditions.

What You'll Be Doing

• Processing payroll accurately and on time
• Managing employee records, leave entitlements and payroll data
• Administering superannuation, deductions and payroll-related reporting
• Responding to payroll enquiries and providing expert advice
• Interpreting awards, legislation and employment conditions
• Supporting payroll compliance and process improvements
• Building strong relationships across the organisation

What We're Looking For

• Previous payroll experience in a medium to large organisation (Local Government experience an advantage)
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation, superannuation and taxation requirements
• Experience interpreting awards, agreements and employment conditions
• High attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Strong Excel and payroll systems experience (Chris21 experience highly regarded)
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
