Sharp & Carter is assisting a highly regarded Australian organisation to recruit an experienced Payroll Officer. The role supports a collaborative, fast-paced team and focuses on accurate payroll delivery and stakeholder relationships.

You'll manage end-to-end payroll, maintain records, handle hires and terminations, and contribute to process improvements while working in a flexible hybrid environment that supports professional development and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Payroll Officer.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong understanding of superannuation and payroll tax regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain payroll systems, employee records, and payroll master data.
• Process new hires, terminations, payroll adjustments, bonuses, and commissions.
• Reconcile leave, payroll reports, General Ledger accounts, and month-end activities.
• Prepare payroll tax, superannuation, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Respond to payroll enquiries and collaborate with HR, Finance, and stakeholders.
• Develop payroll procedures, resolve system issues, and support process improvements.
• Provide administrative support and assist the Payroll Manager with projects and initiatives.
