Job summary

Talent International in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Payroll Advisor to support a major workforce transformation and organisational change program on a 10-week contract. You will work with Payroll, People & Culture and Workforce Transformation teams to manage separations, final payments, and associated payroll activities.

Apply your strong payroll knowledge to ensure accurate calculations, timely processing and seamless employee exits within the Victorian public sector context.

Qualifications

• Payroll experience including terminations and final payments.
• Knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and employment obligations.
• Experience calculating entitlements and separation payments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and validate separation package calculations in line with policies and legislation.
• Calculate entitlements, notice periods, leave balances and final payments.
• Process payroll transactions for cessations and workforce transitions.
• Respond to payroll queries from employees, managers and stakeholders.
• Prepare payroll calculations and documentation for review and approval.
• Collaborate with Payroll, People & Culture and Workforce Transformation teams to ensure accurate exits.

Job description

An exciting short-term opportunity is available for an experienced Payroll Advisor to support a major workforce transformation and organisational change program. Working closely with Payroll, People & Culture and Workforce Transformation teams, you will provide specialist payroll support across employee separations, final payments and workforce transition activities.

It is a 10 weeks contract offering VPS 4 contract rates.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and validate employee separation package calculations in line with relevant legislation, policies and enterprise agreement requirements.
• Calculate employee entitlements, notice periods, leave balances and final payments.
• Process payroll transactions associated with employee cessations and workforce transition activities.
• Respond to payroll-related queries from employees, managers and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare payroll calculations and supporting documentation for review and approval.
• Work closely with Payroll, People & Culture and Workforce Transformation teams to ensure employee exits are processed accurately and on time.

About You

• Demonstrated payroll experience, including employee terminations and final payments.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and employment obligations.
• Experience calculating employee entitlements and separation payments with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong numerical capability and exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience within the Victorian Public Sector and familiarity with VPS employment arrangements will be highly regarded.
