Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Run full end-to-end payroll across multiple entities for ~350 staff.
• Process starters, leavers and changes; calculate overtime, allowances and loadings.
• Administer all leave types and manage PAYG, superannuation and payroll tax.
• Own STP submissions and ensure payroll journals are accurate for month-end.
• Produce payroll reporting and commentary for monthly financials.
• Be first point of contact for pay queries; collaborate with People & Culture.
• Drive continuous improvement of payroll processes and systems.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Manager to take full ownership of the payroll function on a standalone basis. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll run end-to-end payroll across multiple entities, keeping the business compliant and its people paid accurately and on time. Your responsibilities will include:

Running the full end-to-end payroll cycle across multiple entities, covering both monthly salaried and fortnightly casual pay runs for a workforce of close to 350

Processing starters, leavers and employee changes, and calculating overtime, allowances, penalties and loadings in line with the relevant Modern Awards

Administering all leave types, from annual and personal through to parental and long service leave

Owning Single Touch Payroll submissions and keeping PAYG, superannuation and payroll tax obligations accurate and up to date

Preparing and reconciling payroll journals, and partnering with Finance on month-end and end-of-financial-year reporting

Producing payroll reporting, reconciliations and commentary that feed into monthly financial reporting

Being the first point of contact for employee pay queries and working closely with People & Culture on anything payroll-related

Driving continuous improvement across payroll processes, controls and systems, including support on system enhancement projects

To be considered for this role, you will have 7-8 years' end-to-end payroll experience gained within a similarly sized organisation, paired with strong working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and Modern Awards. You're confident preparing and reconciling payroll journals, bring meticulous attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy, and have the organisational skills to manage competing deadlines with ease. Intermediate to advanced Excel, along with experience across payroll and HR systems, will round out your background.
