TwoScots Recruitment is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our Melbourne CBD team on a six-month fixed-term contract. This hands-on role will lead one direct report while remaining actively involved in end-to-end payroll processing.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing accurately and on time
• Remain hands-on in payroll processing, reconciliations and reporting
• Lead, support and develop one direct report
• Review payroll data for accuracy before finalisation
• Manage month-end and year-end payroll activities
• Ensure compliance with legislation, awards and policies
• Oversee superannuation, payroll tax, PAYG and statutory obligations
• Respond to payroll queries from employees and stakeholders
• Identify and implement payroll process improvements
• Support audits and provide payroll reporting as required

Job description

This established organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join its Melbourne CBD team on an initial six-month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys remaining involved in payroll processing while providing leadership and support to one direct report.

Responsibilities Include

• Managing the accurate and timely delivery of end-to-end payroll
• Remaining hands on across payroll processing, reconciliations and reporting
• Lead, support and develop one direct report
• Reviewing payroll data and ensuring accuracy before finalisation
• Managing month end and year end payroll activities
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards and internal policies
• Overseeing superannuation, payroll tax, PAYG and statutory obligations
• Managing employee and stakeholder payroll queries
• Identifying and implementing payroll process improvements
• Supporting audits and providing payroll reporting when required

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a Payroll Manager or senior payroll leadership role
• Strong hands on end to end payroll experienceDemonstrated experience leading or mentoring payroll staff
• Excellent understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance
• Strong reconciliation, reporting and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines
• Confident stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to quickly understand new payroll systems and processes
• Availability to commit to a six month fixed term contract
