Job summary

Ambition Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced Payroll Manager for a Technology consulting business in Melbourne's CBD. The role leads a large payroll team and focuses on strategy and governance, with a strong technical foundation.

The successful candidate will have years in a payroll leadership position, ideally with AU and NZ payroll experience or outsourced payroll exposure, and a track record of process improvements and governance.

Job description

We are recruiting for a highly experienced Payroll Manager for a Technology consulting business in Melbourne's CBD. This role leads a large team and while this person needs to be technical, they will spend the majority of their time focussing on strategy and compliance.

This role will be suited to someone who has a number of years in a Payroll Leadership position, and ideally has a mix of both AU and NZ Payroll or has been working within an outsourced payroll environment.

The role:

• Leading a large team of payroll officers through the day to day achieving accurate and on time payrolls.
• Processing pay for employee bases over both Australia and New Zealand
• The company processes for both internal payroll and outsourced payroll for smaller companies
• Drive payroll compliance and governance within the department
• Build and maintain client relationships
• Manage and achieve services delivery parameters
• Deal with complex pay queries and service transitions

The successful candidate:

• Will have successfully led and developed teams of 5+ staff
• Will have experience processing both Australian and New Zealand Payroll (desirable)
• Have outsourced payroll experience (ideal but not essential)
• Have experience implementing process improvements and identifying gaps
• High-level understanding of payroll compliance and governance
• Large payroll system experience
