Job summary

Randstad is partnering with a growing business in West End, Brisbane, seeking a Payroll Compliance & Finance Projects Specialist for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role blends end-to-end payroll with high-level compliance projects, reporting to the Finance Director.

You will manage multi-state payroll, complex corrections, and payroll audit support with a focus on accuracy and timeliness. Hybrid work is offered (4 days on-site, 1 day remote) in Brisbane.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in multi-state, award-based payroll roles.
• Strong background in payroll compliance, audit or project payroll work.
• Experience using large payroll systems.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end multi-state payroll processing and compliance.
• Manage complex pay-correction work and reconciliations.
• Drive payroll compliance, audit support and award interpretation.
• Partner with the business on payroll and finance project initiatives.
• Respond to complex payroll and compliance queries promptly.

About our client: Randstad is pleased to be partnering with our client who are a growing business based in West End, Brisbane. They are seeking a Payroll Compliance & Finance Projects Specialist to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis.

About the role:

Reporting into the Finance Director, your time will be split between payroll processing and key compliance projects (approx. 2 to 2.5 days per week dedicated to payroll):

• Handling end-to-end multi-state payroll processing and compliance
• Managing complex pay-correction work and reconciliations
• Driving payroll compliance, audit support, and award interpretation
• Partnering with the business on payroll and finance project initiatives
• Responding to complex payroll and compliance queries in a timely manner

About you:

• 5+ years experience in multi-state, award-based payroll positions
• Strong background in payroll compliance, audit, or project-based payroll work
• Proven experience using large payroll systems
• High level of attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Full and unlimited Australian working rights
