We are looking for an experienced Payroll & Client Operations Specialist to take ownership of our payroll operations, manage client relationships, and ensure exceptional service delivery.
This is a senior operational role where you'll be responsible for managing end-to-end Australian payroll services, overseeing client accounts, ensuring compliance with Australian payroll legislation, and continuously improving operational processes.
You will become the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert guidance while ensuring payroll is delivered accurately and on time.
Manage end-to-end Australian payroll processing for multiple clients.
Act as the primary relationship manager for payroll clients.
Ensure payroll is processed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
Interpret and apply Australian payroll legislation, awards, superannuation, taxation, leave entitlements, and Fair Work requirements.
Manage payroll onboarding for new clients.
Prepare and review payroll reports, reconciliations, and invoicing.
Resolve payroll queries from clients and employees promptly and professionally.
Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and service quality.
Develop and maintain payroll documentation and standard operating procedures.
Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Support business growth by identifying opportunities to improve the client experience.
We're looking for someone who is confident managing payroll operations independently and enjoys building strong client relationships.
3+ years of experience in Australian payroll or payroll outsourcing.
Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
Experience working with Australian clients.
Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
Experience managing multiple clients and competing priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in professional English.
A proactive mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
Experience with Australian payroll software such as Employment Hero, Xero Payroll, MYOB, KeyPay, or similar is highly desirable.
Accounting or payroll qualifications are advantageous.
