PM-Partners Group is a specialist Project Management Consultancy in Australia. We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead a large-scale, multi-stream payments transformation program for a leading financial services organisation.

• Proven experience as a Program Manager within banking/financial services or fintech.
• Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent project streams.
• Strong understanding of payments ecosystems (real-time, cards, digital payments, hubs, etc.).
• Experience delivering complex technology and business transformation programs.
• Exceptional stakeholder management with ability to influence at executive level.
• Strong financial management, governance, risk, and delivery capabilities.
• Experience with Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of a complex multi-stream payments program.
• Establish and maintain integrated program plans, milestones, dependencies, and governance forums.
• Manage multiple project managers and delivery leads across business and technology streams.
• Drive alignment across Payments, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Customer teams.
• Manage program budgets, resourcing, forecasts, and vendor relationships.
• Identify and mitigate program-level risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Provide reporting to Steering Committees, Executives, and Sponsors.
• Ensure delivery outcomes align with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
• Lead change management, business readiness, and implementation planning.
• Foster high-performance delivery culture focused on accountability and outcomes.

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead a large-scale, multi-stream payments transformation program for a leading financial services organisation. This role will be responsible for delivering multiple concurrent workstreams across payments modernisation, regulatory compliance, technology transformation, customer experience, and operational readiness.

This is an opportunity to lead a strategic program that will shape the future of payments capability, working with senior executives, delivery partners, technology teams, and business stakeholders. You will be partnering with a hands on Program Director who will help guide work orchestration so you will be in a supported delivery position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of a complex multi-stream payments program.
• Establish and maintain integrated program plans, milestones, dependencies, and governance forums.
• Manage multiple project managers and delivery leads across business and technology workstreams.
• Drive alignment across Payments, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Customer teams.
• Manage program budgets, resourcing, forecasts, and vendor relationships.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate program-level risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Provide clear and concise reporting to Steering Committees, Executives, and Sponsors.
• Ensure delivery outcomes align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and strategic priorities.
• Lead change management, business readiness, and implementation planning activities.
• Foster a high-performance delivery culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and outcomes.

Required Experience

• Proven experience as a Program Manager within banking, financial services, fintech, ideally payments environments.
• Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent project streams
• Strong understanding of payments ecosystems, including real-time payments, merchant acquiring, cards, digital payments, payment hubs, or payment modernisation initiatives.
• Experience delivering complex technology and business transformation programs.
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at Executive level.
• Strong financial management, governance, risk, and delivery management capabilities.
• Experience working with Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies.

Highly Desirable

• Experience with NPP, ISO 20022, Open Banking, SWIFT, card payments, or payment platform migrations.
• Experience leading large vendor and system integration partners.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, MSP, Prince2, SAFe, or Agile Program Management.
