Randstad NV is seeking a Payment Officer (Accounts Payable) for a 12-month temp assignment in Camperdown, NSW, with hybrid working flexibility. The role targets accurate AP processing, strong vendor liaison, and timely issue resolution within an educational institution client.

The successful candidate will manage invoice processing, reconciliations, and compliance while supporting the team during peak periods. SAP Ariba experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Invoice Processing: accurately process all invoices per policy and Procure-to-Pay guidelines.
• Reconciliations & Ledger Management: perform journal transfers and ledger entries.
• Issue Resolution: triage and resolve complex AP issues promptly.
• Compliance & Record Keeping: maintain records aligned with policy and deadlines.
• Process Improvement: provide feedback to improve AP workflows.
• Team Collaboration: support teammates during high-volume periods.
• Customer & Vendor Service: deliver professional service to stakeholders and vendors.
• Stakeholder Communication: keep clear written/verbal updates on status and requirements.

About the Role

Our client is an educational institution based in Camperdown NSW. They are currently seeking a Payment Officer (Accounts Payable) to come in and join their team on a 12 month temp contract with potential for extension.

Requirements for this role include:

• Demonstrated background in core AP processing and high-accuracy data entry
• Proficiency with SAP Ariba ERP system
• A sharp, adaptable mindset with a proven ability to think outside the box, pick up new systems and processes quickly
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to effectively answer inquiries, resolve vendor/internal queries, and collaborate effectively

Key responsibilities will include:

• Invoice Processing: Accurately process all invoices (including non-order, student, and overseas payments) in accordance with procurement policy and online Procure-to-Pay system guidelines.
• Reconciliations & Ledger Management: Perform journal transfers, general ledger entries, statement reconciliations, and analyze system exception reports.
• Issue Resolution: Triaging and resolving complex accounts payable and invoice issues in a timely, effective manner.
• Compliance & Record Keeping: Maintain administrative and record-keeping functions in alignment with organizational standards, legislative requirements, and policy deadlines.
• Process Improvement: Provide proactive feedback on queries and system issues to contribute to the continuous improvement of AP workflows.
• Team Collaboration: Assist team members during high-volume periods to ensure seamless delivery of accounts payable and purchasing services.
• Customer & Vendor Service: Deliver exceptional service to internal stakeholders and external vendors, resolving enquiries professionally and promptly.
• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear, ongoing written and verbal communication regarding issue status and process requirements.
