Job summary

Job Q is seeking a Payment Officer (Accounts Payable) for an educational institution in Camperdown, NSW, on a 12-month temporary contract with hybrid working flexibility.

The role involves processing invoices, reconciling ledgers, and resolving vendor queries using SAP Ariba. You will maintain records in line with policy and collaborate across teams to ensure accurate, timely payments.

Qualifications

• Background in core AP processing with high-accuracy data entry.
• Proficiency with SAP Ariba ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Process all invoices accurately in accordance with policy and Procure-to-Pay guidelines.
• Perform journal transfers, general ledger entries, statement reconciliations and analyses.
• Triaging and resolving complex accounts payable and invoice issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain compliance and records in line with standards, legislation and deadlines.
• Provide proactive feedback to improve AP workflows and processes.
• Support team during high-volume periods to ensure timely payments and services.
• Deliver service to internal stakeholders and external vendors with clear communication.

They are currently seeking a Payment Officer (Accounts Payable) to come in and join their team on a 12 month temp contract with potential for extension. Requirements for this role include:Demonstrated background in core AP processing and high-accuracy data entryProficiency with SAP Ariba ERP systemA sharp, adaptable mindset with a proven ability to think outside the box, pick up new systems and processes quicklyOutstanding written and verbal communication skills to effectively answer inquiries, resolve vendor/internal queries, and collaborate effectivelyKey responsibilities will include:Invoice Processing: Accurately process all invoices (including non-order, student, and overseas payments) in accordance with procurement policy and online Procure-to-Pay system guidelines. Reconciliations & Ledger Management: Perform journal transfers, general ledger entries, statement reconciliations, and analyze system exception reports. Issue Resolution: Triaging and resolving complex accounts payable and invoice issues in a timely, effective manner. Compliance & Record Keeping: Maintain administrative and record-keeping functions in alignment with organizational standards, legislative requirements, and policy deadlines. Process Improvement: Provide proactive feedback on queries and system issues to contribute to the continuous improvement of AP workflows. Team Collaboration: Assist team members during high-volume periods to ensure seamless delivery of accounts payable and purchasing services. Customer & Vendor Service: Deliver exceptional service to internal stakeholders and external vendors, resolving enquiries professionally and promptly.
