Job summary

UNSW is seeking a Claims Officer to join the People & Culture, Quality and Compliance Team. You will help identify, assess, quantify and rectify employee pay claims, working closely with the Claims Manager and other stakeholders to ensure compliant remediation under enterprise agreements and applicable law.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree with experience advising on employee relations matters including investigations into pay claims.
• Proven ability to engage diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with initiative and discretion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with attention to detail.
• Ability to apply judgment and generate robust solutions to complex problems.
• High proficiency with Word and Excel and comfort with multiple systems.

Responsibilities

• Review and investigate employee pay claims, gathering and analysing employment, payroll and supporting records.
• Apply established claim assessment methodologies and assist in determining outcomes per enterprise agreements and regulatory instruments.
• Liaise with Payroll Compliance, Finance and Salaries to support claim calculations and remediation.
• Communicate professionally with current and former employees throughout the claims process.
• Manage reporting, remediated claims and trends; escalate complex matters to the Claims Manager as needed.
