Job summary

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Bachelor of Pharmacy.
• A current general registration with AHPRA.
• At least 12 months of experience in fulfilling similar responsibility in a retail pharmacy.
• Attention to detail and precision in record keeping.
• Demonstrated experience working in fast paced environments.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a high-pressure setting.
• Ability to contribute ideas, demonstrate initiative and manage tasks.
• Able to operate effectively in a team and maintain positive working relationships.
• Ability to plan and organise self and others to meet deadlines.
• At least 12 months of proficiency in pharmacy dispensing software and POS.
• At least 12 months of experience in providing customer service and pharmaceutical care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality pharmacy services, including dispensing prescription medicines and counselling patients.
• Provide patient-centred care by collaborating with GPs and other healthcare professionals.
• Dispense prescriptions in compliance with regulations and manage Medicines supply.
• Utilise dispensary assistants for routine dispensing tasks when appropriate.
• Provide comprehensive services, including home medicine reviews and medication adherence support.
• Maintain high levels of customer service and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Ensure patient safety and monitor medication use, documenting interventions as needed.
• Offer staged supply services following prescriber or patient requests.
• Prepare PBS and other Medicare claims as necessary.
• Assist in managing dispensary stock and oversee inventory and storage conditions.
• Oversee ordering and receipt of pharmacy stock following internal procedures.
• Continuously update knowledge on medications and related services.
• Stay compliant with legislation and regulatory obligations (e.g., Pharmacy Practice Act, OH&S, QCPP).
• Maintain accurate prescription records and supervise staff where applicable.
• Supply non-prescription medicines and provide diagnostic and therapeutic guidance.
