Job summary

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside is seeking a friendly, well organized Patient Administration Officer to join our team on a permanent full-time basis (38 hours per fortnight). You will help deliver a seamless patient journey across all areas of Patient Administration, providing exceptional service to patients, specialists and visitors.

This frontline role requires excellent communication, attention to detail and strong computer literacy, including MS Office and WebPAS.

About the role

We’re currently looking for a friendly, well organised and patient focused Patient Administration Officer to join our dynamic team at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside. Working on a permanent full-time basis (38 hours minimum per fortnight) at St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside (Chermside). In this role you will ensue a seamless and efficient patient journey across all areas of Patient Administration, providing exceptional service to our patients, specialists and visitors. The role is a frontline position and will require you to have excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail to deliver our commitment to outstanding patient care.

About the hospital

At St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside, we have over 1,000 dedicated and skilled staff who treat nearly 35,000 people a year, delivering safe and high-quality care to all our patients. Our hospital has 227 beds, 9 operating theatres, 2 cardiac catheter laboratories, a 17-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Day Oncology Unit, Breast Health Centre, Endoscopy Unit, Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit and a 24-hour, private emergency centre provided by Brisbane Northside Emergency.

• Ability to work at offsite locations at North Lakes and Chermside, if required, as well as the hospital site
• Excellent customer service skills with exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Reliability and adaptability to work across all areas of Patient Administration
• Highly developed interpersonal, organisational and time management skills
• Ability to prioritise workload and efficiently manage multiple tasks
• High level of computer skills, including the Microsoft packages
• Prior experience in a health care setting would be advantageous
• Knowledge of WebPAS and the ability to use other patient management systems is desirable
• Working knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
