Job summary

Ballarat Austin Radiation Oncology Centre (BAROC) at Austin Health is seeking an administration professional to provide high‑quality support to a growing service. The role is based in Ballarat with an hourly rate and casual loading plus super.

A regular day includes reception duties, patient liaison, managing correspondence, EMR filing, referral management and contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a customer or patient-facing role.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Sound computer skills, including accurate typing and MS Office.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Reception duties including patient identification, waiting room flow, phone attendance, and triage.
• Patient liaison for coordinating transport, accommodation, and interpreter services as required.
• Management of incoming/outgoing patient correspondence (letters/appointment details).
• Filing of results/reports into the EMR and maintaining filing/records systems.
• Referral management and updating patient records with referring doctors and tests.
• Supporting billing processes to ensure Medicare compliance.
• Contribute to a positive team culture and safety of staff and patients.
• Liaise with clinical staff inside/outside BRICC/BAROC to optimise service delivery.
