Job summary

Healius is seeking an experienced Scientist (Medical Laboratory Scientist) to join QML Pathology in Brisbane. The role covers specimen receipt, analyser operation, and rapid PCR on GeneXpert within a 24-hour roster, including holidays.

A strong focus on QC, QA and maintaining high standards is required. The successful candidate will hold a relevant science degree, demonstrate independent working capabilities, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives across the lab and with external

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in MLS/Applied Science or equivalent.
• Experience and skills in QC, QAP and troubleshooting.
• Ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvements per accreditation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to quality and excellence.
• Adhere to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Specimen receipt and processing.
• Operate and maintain analysers listed in the ad.
• Perform rapid PCR on GeneXpert.
• Conduct seminal analysis and STAT Microscopy.
• Monitor QC and participate in surveys.
• Liaise with hospital staff and other departments.
