Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Redmond seeks a PAT Engineer to develop, test, and validate pointing, acquisition, and tracking systems for free-space optical links in the satellite constellation.

You will work across FPGA verification, hardware integration, and model-based design, collaborating with EE and mechanical teams to run test campaigns, maintain verification infra, and bridge algorithm models with hardware implementations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years in a hardware-adjacent controls, test, or systems engineering role.
• MATLAB/Simulink proficiency for running models and debugging.
• Experience reading schematics and analog/digital interfaces.
• Experience with control fundamentals – feedback, transfer functions, stability.
• Ability to interface with EE, FPGA, and mechanical teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze flight telemetry data and compare against simulation predictions to identify discrepancies.
• Run and maintain simulation environments to reproduce flight scenarios.
• Correlate flight data trends with model behavior and hardware characteristics.
