Job summary

Salter Brothers Hospitality is seeking a Pastry Chef for Spicers Hidden Vale in Grandchester, QLD. You will lead the dessert, pastry and bakery offerings, creating high-quality items and contributing to seasonal menus. Team accommodation is provided, with opportunities to grow within a 20+ property group.

You will work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure exceptional guest experiences while maintaining rigorous hygiene and presentation standards across events and dining services.

Qualifications

• Must hold a trade qualification as a Chef or Pastry Chef.
• Experience producing high-quality pastries, desserts, breads and cakes with attention to detail.
• Strong pastry techniques and presentation skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional dessert, pastry and baked offerings for guest dining experiences.
• Prepare and present pastries, desserts, breads, cakes and specialty items to high standards.
• Own the pastry section, ensure efficient prep, production and service.
• Assist with seasonal dessert menus and bespoke pastry items for events.
• Maintain hygiene and food safety to company and regulatory standards.
• Support culinary offerings across the property including events and functions.
• Collaborate with Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in training junior chefs and fostering a professional kitchen culture.
