Job summary

Sesame Lane Child Care is seeking an Educational Leader for a non‑contact role within a dynamic Leadership Team in Narangba, Queensland. You will guide educators, support curriculum planning, and contribute to learning outcomes across the service.

This role offers time on the floor, mentoring from a dedicated Educational Mentor, and opportunities for professional growth within a supportive management framework.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher qualification (ACE CQA‑assessed equivalent) with EYLF knowledge.
• Bachelor-qualified candidates encouraged to apply.
• Sound understanding of the EYLF, NQS, and the QKLG.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
• Permanent working rights in Australia; sponsorship considered.

Responsibilities

• Inspire, motivate, and support educators to elevate the service's practice.
• Assist in Assessment and Rating and Quality Improvement Plans.
• Guide educators to reflect on children's learning and pedagogy.
• Support day‑to‑day operations and non‑contact time.
• Ensure curriculum development and family/community engagement meet standards.

The Role

We're looking for a motivated and inspiring Early Childhood Educator to step into the Educational Leader role at Sesame Lane.

We deeply value our Educational Leaders and know how important it is to have dedicated time — time with educators as they program, time on the floor supporting and guiding, time for your own work, and time to grow as a leader and mentor. For this reason, our Educational Leaders are not assigned to a single room and only step in as support when needed. This role forms part of the service's Leadership Team, and you'll work closely with the Service Manager to achieve exceptional learning outcomes for both children and educators. You'll also be supported by a dedicated Educational Mentor and Area Manager.

As the Educational Leader, you will:

Inspire, motivate, and support educators to elevate the service's practice, in partnership with the Leadership Team

Support educators to assess each child's learning and development in relation to the approved learning framework and contemporary theories

Guide educators to critically reflect on children's learning and their own pedagogy as part of everyday practice

Provide support for Assessment and Rating, and help prepare the team for Self‑Assessment and Quality Improvement Plans

Assist in setting clear goals around educational programming and the efficiency of the service

Ensure the service follows best practice across curriculum development, professional development, administrative procedures, and family and community engagement

Assist with day‑to‑day operations as needed

Enjoy well above the required non‑contact time to fulfil your role

Skills and qualifications we're looking for:

A growth mindset and a genuine love of learning

Strong ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues

A Diploma or higher qualification (or ACECQA‑assessed equivalent) — Bachelor‑qualified candidates are especially encouraged to apply

Sound understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards, and the QKLG

Excellent leadership and communication skills

Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)

A sense of fun and a willingness to think outside the box

Confidence using online learning journey tools such as StoryPark

Passion for sustainable practices
