Job summary

Mater Mothers is seeking a Social Work Assistant to join the Social Work Team at our South Brisbane campus on a fixed-term part-time basis until 12 February 2027. The role involves clinical and administrative support under delegation, assisting patients and families to access services, and maintaining accurate records.

The position offers hourly pay of 44.06–56.52 AUD plus superannuation and access to salary packaging up to 18,550 AUD, along with a range of staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role with clinical practice in allied health
• Able to work autonomously under delegated practice in a complex environment
• Effective communicator with multidisciplinary teams, patients and carers
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills and problem-solving ability
• Sound computer and digital literacy skills

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support to Social Work staff under delegation.
• Assist patients to access government and community services, transport and other resources.
• Maintain patient records and document updates for Social Workers.
• Coordinate appointments, phone calls, emails and calendars.
• Assist with telehealth setup and troubleshooting for patients and clinicians.
• Develop patient education materials and internal procedures.
• Liaise with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams to support care.
