Job summary

Sekel Grinberg Judd is seeking a part-time Senior Bookkeeper / Accounts Officer to support the firm's finance operations, working closely with the Finance Manager. The role is initially one day per week, on-site at our Circular Quay office.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years’ solid bookkeeping experience, a keen eye for detail, and a professional services background. You’ll handle transactions, reconciliations, BAS/IAS preparation, and other accounting tasks as required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of solid bookkeeping experience.
• High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail.
• Experience in professional services such as legal, accounting or real estate is desirable.
• Exposure to legal practice management software with integrated general ledger is an advantage.
• Friendly, positive communicator.
• Flexible and adaptable to take ownership and get things done.

Responsibilities

• Process financial transactions including bank receipts, payments, accounts payable and legal disbursements.
• Bank reconciliation of the practice office bank account.
• Credit card account reconciliations and journals.
• Assist Finance Manager with trust accounting payments, receipts and reconciliations of statutory trust accounts.
• Assist Finance Manager with debtor invoicing and reconciliation.
• Assist with preparation of BAS & IAS each month.
• Ad hoc accounting duties and accounts administration.
