Job summary

Camberwell Girls Grammar School in Melbourne is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join us on a part-time (0.59 FTE), ongoing basis, commencing Term 4. Reporting to the Head of Science, you will support science learning for Years 7–12 in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will prepare and maintain lab equipment, assist teachers with experiments, ensure safety and compliance, manage stock, and complete risk assessments to support high-quality student experiences.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques or higher is required.
• Experience in laboratory environments, school experience is valued.
• Strong understanding of lab processes, equipment and safety procedures.
• Chemistry experience is preferred.
• Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain lab equipment and supplies.
• Assist teachers with experiments and trial experiments prior to class.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, compliance and risk assessment processes are followed for the laboratories.
• Manage ordering, stock control and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Complete and update risk assessments and safety documentation to ensure compliance.
