Job summary

Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic School, Waitara is seeking an experienced Canteen Manager for a permanent part-time role (0.29 FTE), starting 28 January 2027. The role covers day-to-day canteen operations, financial management, and compliance with CSBB and NSW Health guidelines.

Key requirements include food safety knowledge, ability to manage volunteers, and current Food Safety Supervisor and First Aid certifications. Working days are Thursday and Friday.

Qualifications

• Have prior experience running a canteen or similar role with food safety knowledge.
• Oversee the financial operations of the canteen in line with CSBB policies.
• Maintain accurate records, manage daily takings, and reconcile Qkr! transactions.
• Conduct regular stocktakes and maintain stock levels.
• Order stock using CSBB-qualified suppliers and manage inventory efficiently.
• Ensure all food handling and storage practices meet NSW Food Authority standards.
• Ensure compliance with the NSW Government Healthy School Canteen Strategy.
• Maintain “Healthy Canteen” status and adhere to CSBB and NSW Health guidelines.
• Comply with local Council health and safety regulations, including readiness for audits and inspections.
• Coordinate and manage the servicing and maintenance of all canteen equipment.
• Recruit, schedule, and manage parent and community volunteers.
• Ensure all volunteers complete mandatory Child Protection and Food Safety training.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders, including volunteers, students, staff and parents.
• Manage the Qkr! online ordering system, including uploading menu items, managing availability, generating reports, and producing labels.
• Respond to queries regarding missing orders or payments in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate with the Principal, Senior Administration Officer, and Parent Engagement Coordinator.
• Have a current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate and First Aid in an Education and Care Setting, including current certification in Asthma Management Anaphylaxis Awareness and Emergency Response.

Responsibilities
