Job summary

Corpus Christi Primary School in Waratah, NSW, seeks a part-time Canteen Officer to manage day-to-day canteen operations. The role covers 10 hours per week across Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with start times between 8:00 and 8:30am for three shifts.

You will follow NSW food handling policies, handle cash, and provide friendly service to students and staff. A Basic Food Handling Certificate and NSW WWCC are required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated understanding of current Work, Health and Safety requirements.
• Knowledge of preparation, proper storage and disposal of food.
• Knowledge of cleaning, and hand hygiene.
• Practical experience in the operation of a café or canteen.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and the ability to achieve organisational and team values, goals and objectives and to behave professionally.
• Experience in handling cash.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the day-to-day operations of the school canteen, including opening and closing.
• Prepare and sell menu items as per the canteen menu.
• Follow relevant food handling and money handling policies.
• Provide friendly, customer-focused service to students and staff within the school community.
• Support the development of strong relationships within the school community with students, parents, volunteers, and staff.
