Job summary

NSW Health Pathology Tamworth Collection Centre is hiring three permanent part-time Technical Assistants (20 hours per week) to perform venepuncture and specimen collection across hospital wards, collection centres and home visits. Training provided as needed to support career growth in healthcare.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Pathology Collections and/or venepuncture experience or demonstrated ability to learn clinical environment.
• Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to communicate with patients, carers and clinical staff.
• Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills for specimen collection and transport.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a customer-focused pathology collection service across inpatient, outpatient and home care settings.
• Provide a high-quality healthcare service to referrers and consumers.
• Perform venepuncture and duties pertaining to specimen collection, data entry, processing and delivery.
