Job summary

NSW Health Pathology at Glen Innes Hospital is seeking Technical Assistant Grade 2 for blood collection duties. The role involves venepuncture, data entry, and specimen preparation with flexible hours to suit part-time or full-time arrangements.

Based in the Glen Innes District Hospital Collection Centre, responsibilities include handling specimens, coordinating with lab teams, and traveling to required sites. Shift work, weekends, and a NSW C-Class licence are required.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Pathology Collections and/or experience in venepuncture.
• Customer service experience and communication with patients, carers and staff.
• Ability to learn and perform pathology collection, data entry and specimen handling.
• Willingness to participate in shift work including weekends and travel to sites.
• Current NSW C-Class driver’s licence (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture and specimen collection.
• Enter patient and test information into the laboratory system.
• Prepare pathology specimens for transport to NSW Health Pathology labs.
• Assist the laboratory team and support collection activities across sites.
