Job summary

Toronto Family Practice & Fletcher Clinic in Newcastle area is seeking a part-time Medical Receptionist to provide high-quality reception and secretarial services to patients, doctors and staff.

You will answer calls, book appointments, manage patient information with Best Practice, maintain accounts and liaise with GPs and nurses.

The ideal candidate will be patient-focused, able to work independently or in a team, and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Windows 11.
• Medical Terminology knowledge.
• Proficient computer and keyboard skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Clear and efficient communication.
• Current driver’s license.
• Confidentiality of information.

Responsibilities

• Answer the telephone promptly in a polite and courteous manner.
• Make appointments as required per Appointment and Triage policies.
• Be competent with Best Practice.
• Look after the needs of all patients, including maintaining patient flow and updating information.
• Ensure patients accounts are maintained.
• Liaise with GPs, Practice Nurse, other Health Professionals and staff.
