Job summary
SA Health's Northgate Neuro Behavioural Unit in Northgate SA 5085 is seeking a part-time Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant. The role focuses on designing and delivering meaningful recreational activities to support the wellbeing and dignity of residents with dementia and BPSD.
You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, document activities, and contribute to person-centred care. This ongoing, part-time position offers pro rata salary with superannuation and salary sacrifice benefits.
Qualifications
- A qualification in Leisure and Health, Community Services, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience delivering lifestyle programs in aged care, mental health, or community settings.
- Understanding of person-centred care and needs of older people living with mental illness.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver individual and group activities tailored to residents’ interests and goals.
- Contribute to lifestyle assessments and care planning with nursing and allied health staff.
- Build relationships with residents, families and carers to understand what brings joy and purpose.
- Maintain accurate documentation of activity participation per SA Health standards.
