Job summary

UnitingSA is seeking a dedicated Leisure and Lifestyle Officer for Wesley House Residential Aged Care, Western Suburbs SA. This permanent part-time role involves planning, developing, and delivering meaningful activities to enhance residents' physical, emotional, and social well-being.

You will facilitate group activities and provide one-on-one interactions, fostering connections and enriching experiences tailored to each resident's needs and interests.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Aging & Disability) or equivalent required.
• Extensive experience in a Lifestyle or Diversional Therapy role within aged care.
• Strong understanding of needs of elderly residents, including cognitive decline and physical disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop personalised leisure activities reflecting residents' preferences and needs.
• Provide guidance to residents and families, ensuring support for lifestyle choices.
• Ensure a varied and inclusive program that accommodates all levels of ability and encourages participation.
• Promote social and physical engagement to help residents maintain function and independence.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing quality improvements and staff development.
