Job summary

Northgate Neuro Behavioural Unit, part of the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network's Older Persons Mental Health Service, is seeking a Leisure & Lifestyle Assistant for a part-time, ongoing role designed to enhance wellbeing and engagement for residents living with complex dementia with BPSD.

You will design and deliver meaningful recreational activities, work with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to assessments and care planning while building relationships with residents and

Qualifications

• A qualification in Leisure and Health, Community Services, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience delivering lifestyle programs in an aged care, mental health, or community setting
• Knowledge of person-centred care for older people living with mental illness
• Current or ability to obtain National Police Clearance and DCSI Aged Care Sector screening

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate individual and group activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and therapeutic goals
• Contribute to lifestyle assessments and care planning with nursing and allied health staff
• Build genuine relationships with residents, families, and carers to understand what brings each person joy and purpose
• Maintain accurate documentation of activity participation and resident responses in line with SA Health standards
