Job summary

Wood Recruitment client in Perth CBD seeks an experienced Accounts Manager / Bookkeeper for a part-time role ~18 hours per week (10:00am–3:00pm, three days). Focus on legal Trust accounting, invoicing, BAS lodgement, and financial reporting within a supportive boutique practice.

The role suits an established accounting professional with trust accounting expertise, capable of independent work and collaboration with legal secretaries and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of relevant accounting experience
• Demonstrated legal Trust accounting experience
• Strong reconciliation and financial reporting skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end legal Trust accounting function including invoicing, receipting, and payment of file-related and business expenses
• Prepare and lodge BAS statements
• Assist with financial reporting, audits, and external accountant requirements
• Perform daily reconciliations across Trust Accounts, General Office Accounts, Reserve and Loan Accounts, and multiple business credit cards
• Maintain accurate financial records and reporting
• Ensure ongoing compliance with legal Trust accounting regulations and requirements
• Process disbursements including counsel fees, medical expenses, and other file-related payments
• Work closely with legal secretaries to ensure accurate and timely financial administration
• Manage accounting responsibilities independently with limited internal accounting support
• Learn and understand Actionstep processes and workflows to support daily operations
