Vets Central in Port Stephens, NSW, is seeking a Part-Time Lead Veterinarian on an 8-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave starting December 2026. The role allows full-time hours if preferred and includes leadership over the veterinary team during a busy caseload of consultations and surgery.

Ideal candidates have BVSc or equivalent, 3+ years' experience, and confidence in soft tissue surgery. Mentoring experience is desirable.

We are a 4-vet small animal practice nestled in the stunning Port Stephens region - just north of Newcastle and only five minutes from the beach. The Role:

We're looking for a Part-Time Lead Veterinarian to join us on an 8-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave, commencing in December 2026.

The role is offered on a part-time basis, with the opportunity to work full-time hours if that is your preference.

As Lead Vet, you'll provide day-to-day clinical guidance and support to the veterinary team, while also stepping in to cover the superintendent duties. You'll be involved in a varied caseload of consultations and surgery.
