Job summary

Bluebird Early Education is seeking a Kitchen Hand to support the Centre Chef, 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, delivering nutritious meals for children aged 0 to 6 in a warm, caring environment.

You will maintain kitchen hygiene, follow nutrition policies, and engage with educators and families to foster a sense of community. Eligibility includes Food Safety, First Aid/CPR, and Working with Children Checks.

Qualifications

• Food safety certificates required.
• Experience in cooking for children 0–6 years is preferred.
• First Aid, CPR and Anaphylaxis certificates required or willing to obtain.
• Working with Children Check (Blue Card) required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Centre Chef to plan and prepare daily nutritious meals for children 0 to 6 years, including breakfast and snacks.
• Prepare meals to meet dietary requirements and allergies.
• Adhere to the centre's nutrition policy and guidelines.
• Interact with Educators, children, and families to build community and engagement.
• Run cooking programs for children as required.
• Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen in line with centre policies.
