Job summary

IDX Group in Melbourne's Olympic Park imaging facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join on a 12-month maternity leave contract. The role is part-time, 3 days per week (Mon-Fri), and focuses on nursing patients undergoing interventional procedures and sedation, ensuring safety and comfort.

You will work with radiologists and imaging staff, perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, manage peri-procedural care, document in EMR, and support quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Victoria is required.
• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience, preferably in imaging or radiology.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is mandatory.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care to patients undergoing imaging procedures, including MRI, CT, X-ray, and ultrasound.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review and vital sign monitoring.
• Assist radiologists and imaging technologists during procedures, ensuring patients are positioned correctly and supported.
• Educate patients and families about imaging procedures, preparations, and post-procedure care instructions.
• Adhere to safety protocols including radiation safety measures and infection control practices.
• Document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses in EMR in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and support staff for coordinated patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance nursing care and outcomes.
